Residence/HY Mann, Architect, Okanagan

Animating Unbuilt Spaces and Projects

A jewel of a design, Henry Yorke Mann designed a home that never got built.

He wanted to have it modeled in 3d then be able to walk-through the building.

Henry Yorke Mann (August 15, 1930 to April 2, 2015) was a master builder and architect, renowned for his creative designs. His elegant design for a small, eco-efficient residence, commissioned for a remote property in the south Okanagan, was never built. Henry wanted a virtual model to properly convey his vision. The working drawings, drafted by Tatham Design in 2005, while being suitable for building permit and building contractor,  did not serve to communicate the insight and beauty of the building. The 3D model created serves as the ultimate “see before build” tool to demonstrate all aspects of the building, the site, interior features – and shows the potential for materials selection, coordination and more.
